Welcome to Shropshire Disc Golf Club!

We have a vision of creating a disc golfing community in Shropshire, and are putting together plans for a network of disc golf clubs around the county.  Funding is currently being sought for a ‘hub’ course which will form the exit point for a series of coaching programs.

Disc golf is a low-impact, truly inclusive sport, and we aim to offer the sport to as many people as we can, regardless of age, ability or background. Our aim is to create the UK’s first accessible disc golf course integrated into a family-friendly championship standard course..!

If you know of a group that may be interested in disc golf, drop us a line.

We can provide a series of structured coaching sessions where players will develop the skills to face the challenges provided by a disc golf course. At the end of the program they will receive a bag and set of discs so they can play at the Hub course, and we will provide a club structure for regular events and leagues.

We are fully insured, DBS checked and up-to-date on safeguarding procedures, and what’s more, because of the fantastic organisations supporting us, it won’t cost you a penny!

Final stage of the funding application for the installation of a new 9 hole course at Shrewsbury Sports Village has been completed! The proposed course will be open to the public, free to play, and discs will be available to borrow for free from reception.

We're aiming to make the course family-friendly and as inclusive as possible, but still present a genuine midrange challenge to more experienced players.

The course will be set in the woodlands to the south of the Sports Village, so we'll be sneaking some technical holes in there. Here's a couple of pictures of the area to give some idea of we have to work with...! They were taken after a recent cyclo-cross event, so no need to worry about hoards of cyclists on the fairways, and we can remove baskets at future if we need to.

Thanks to everyone at Energize, Shropshire County Council, Shrewsbury Town Council and Shrewsbury Sports Village for their help in bringing the project a huge step closer to reality.

We're through to the next stage of the funding process! No messing around there! Pressure's on now to get all the information and evidence together for the final stage.

Another milestone, a little more nostalgia from the Kingsland Classic 2006, the first event in Shropshire on the BDGA National Tour.

Thought we'd celebrate what may be a momentous stage in the evolution of Disc Golf in Shropshire by reminiscing about where it all began... BoomHill back in '04. Ahh the memories of playing to posts and trees at Farmer Phil's with those beautiful views over the hills...
